Hello World;
I am an Austin native currently in my third year studying computer science at the University of Texas at Austin. My goal is to create functional, efficient and user-friendly websites and applications (mobile or computer). My most recent experience includes working at a top internet company, Indeed. I have experience with fullstack web work, Java applications and iOS mobile applications. I enjoy working in collaborative, team-oriented environments. I am very interested and open to any opportunities abroad.
In my time at the University of Texas, I have had the honor of being selected to be a teaching assistant for the data structures course for the last three semesters. In the last year I recieved both the College Scholar award and the Second Year Exellence award. My academic success has earned me the distinction of invitations to influential invite-only carrer building events.
Programming is my passion and my hobby. I have been loving coding since I was introduced to drag and drop programming with LEGO Mindstorms in elementary school. This is my life's passion and makes me happy to do my work every day.
Some fun facts about me:
- favorite programming language: Java
- favorite board game: Settlers of Catan
- favorite video game: Stardew Valley or Minecraft
- favorite sport: Soccer

An iPhone 8 application that plays the classic schoolhouse game "hangman" with a small twist - the evil computer cheats!
See the codeText-based blackjack game written in MIPS assembly using the MARS IDE. Includes automatic ace handling (1 point vs. 11 points) and uses an AI dealer.
Claire was the summer 2019 intern for my team at Indeed, but from the caliber of her work, it would be easy to mistake her for an experienced industry hire. She completed her intern project with plenty of time to spare, and was an active and valued participant in all team activities (standup, triage, grooming, etc).
Claire will be missed and I hope we can persuade her to come back for a FT role when she graduates.
- Christine Mecklenborg, Senior QA Automation Engineer at Indeed.com
Claire was the first intern I've ever mentored. This whole recommendation is gonna be the long version of "she set the bar pretty high for future interns."
Claire's project was to move our product's tech stack onto a new API we had created the quarter prior. Thanks to Claire's successful work, we are able to prove that migrating to this new API is viable for any team. Claire's work has made a significant impact on Indeed, as it will make it easier for us to support other teams' custom billing experiences.
I pair programmed with Claire during the first three weeks of her internship. During that time, she quickly picked up on our team's code and style conventions. After completing her first two tickets this way, Claire was able to proceed with the rest of her project with minimal interference from me. She wasn't afraid to ask questions or speak her mind during brainstorming sessions with the team.
Claire's presence is hard to ignore and will be sorely missed when she returns to school. I hope I get the chance to work with her again in the future.
- Samuel Marino, Software Engineer at Indeed.com
The only reason Claire isn't FT on our team already is because we have to wait until 2022 for her to graduate. We took a risk on giving her a "business critical, we needed this yesterday" project of migrating from a legacy system and now it's done. Can't argue with results.
